Economic Recovery
During a response to humanitarian emergency, economic recovery enables people to rebuild their assets and capabilities and return to normal life. Sustainable sources of income reduce vulnerability to future emergencies. Interventions that aim to support economic recovery help people earn enough income to meet their needs, fulfil their obligations and recover from the crisis. Providing people affected by disaster with an economic opportunity also helps them improve their morale and contributes to their empowerment and dignity in the aftermath of a crisis.
